I find so many lyrics are uncertain

The Zenmenn don’t say who they are. Their debut, Enter the Zenmenn, arrived on Amsterdam’s Music From Memory label in 2021 with no faces and no biography — just a name that sounds like a wellness cult and some of the gentlest music of that year. “Homage To A Friendship” is its soft centre, with John Moods drifting in to sing it.

And what is he singing, exactly? Hard to say — the vocal floats half-submerged in the mix, and even the lyric sites can’t agree on the words. It doesn’t matter. The title carries the meaning, the guitars carry the warmth, and five minutes later you feel like you’ve been sitting quietly with someone you like. Some songs are for deciphering; this one is for keeping near.
